It All Started In a Garden

Gardening is mentioned many times in the Bible – starting with the Garden of Eden. Whether in Genesis, Jeremiah or the Gospels, gardens play a prominent role in God’s plans. They are wondrous places where we can “meet” with the Lord and marvel at His miracles.

St. Paul’s transformed 1,200 sq. ft. of unused ground into a food garden. The garden will produce over 1,000 pounds of produce to meet the many needs in our community; food for those in need of fresh vegetables, exercise and fresh air for old and young alike, conversation and relationship. The harvest will be given to garden volunteers and to our guests at the St. Paul’s Food Pantry.

This Year's Community Garden

As the days lengthen during the season of Lent, our hopes turn to Easter and spring.  It’s that time when something is new.  One new opportunity this year is to have your own garden in the St. Paul’s raised bed gardens.  There are 16 raised bed gardens on the west side of the church.  Each of them when gardened well have the potential of producing about 60 to 70 pounds of produce.  You can find more information about the gardens by reading the FAQ, garden waiver, agreement, and member application here on this page.  There are so many benefits of having a garden including good health, nutrition, a wholesome family activity, sharing your abundance with others, and fun.  See Fr.
